If you’re not including Amazon in your personal branding, you are really missing out on the party.
Amazon has 310 million active users to-date, over 90 million U.S Amazon Prime subscribers, and ships over 1.6 million packages per day.
There’s no question that Amazon is the king of e-commerce right now. So how can you get a cut of the pie by leveraging Amazon into your personal brand? I’ll highlight 3 ways you can include Amazon in your personal brand.
1. Become an Affiliate of Amazon
Being an affiliate of Amazon has plenty of benefits. For those unfamiliar with affiliate marketing with Amazon, it’s pretty straightforward. If you have any favorite products that you use, you can recommend those products to your audience and get paid a small percent of the product price (usually 10% or less) by Amazon for the referral.
I’ll give you an example. One of my favorite books that I am currently reading is “Crushing It!: Crushing It!: How Great Entrepreneurs Build Their Business and Influence-and How You Can, Too” by Gary Vaynerchuck. This is seriously an amazing book for people that are ready to start or expand their personal brand. It really helps you think outside the box too. I’ll try to do a full review on this book when I complete it.
If you click on that link and purchased the book, I would get a small commission for recommending that book to you. Even better, if you purchase any other items from Amazon within the next 24 hours of clicking on the link, I would also get a commission from that! How cool is that?! (Help a brotha out haha).
This is one of the easiest ways to make a little bit of income using Amazon. The reason this works effectively is that Amazon is already a heavily trusted e-commerce site by many individuals.
Just because Amazon is trusted by many individuals doesn’t mean you should put Amazon referral links everywhere on your site or social media platform though. To build a strong and reputable personal brand, you need to be honest with your product recommendations. This entails only recommending products that you use, trust and believe in yourself.
2. Sell Your Products and Services on Amazon
Amazon is a great platform for selling your products. Amazon gets about 197 million visitors per month! Yes, that’s 197,000,000 per month. That’s a little over 6.5 million visitors per day! If you could just get 0.001% of those visitors to purchase from you, that is 65 sales per day.
Here’s where things get even better. You can list your own products on Amazon and then link to them as affiliate links.
So that means when a user purchases your product from Amazon, you will also get a commission from them purchasing your product and any other products they purchase within the next 24 hours. This is why building a personal brand is so important. When you build a strong personal brand, you can put the links to your own products in your website, YouTube channel, or other permissible social media sites!
I do want to add that if you sell on Amazon, you can use their FBA program. The FBA program stands for Fulfillment By Amazon. This is a service that Amazon provides to allow sellers to ship their product to Amazon and allows Amazon to fulfill the order once a purchase is made. Amazon will let you know when inventory is low, when a user wants to return the product, and provide you wonderful statistics of how well you are doing. Yea, you read that correctly. This means that you don’t have to deal with inventory, shipping, or customer service. You just need to work on your personal brand and your products. Just keep in mind that they do charge a fee for this service, so make sure you run the numbers to make sure you come out on top.
I really hope this article helps you think of ways to use Amazon in parallel with your personal brand. If used properly, you will be able to see a huge return on investment very quickly.
